How we learn?

Learning is a dynamic and continuous process that allows individuals to acquire new knowledge, skills, and abilities. Understanding how we learn involves recognizing the different stages that individuals progress through in their journey towards mastery. These stages can be categorized into four distinct phases: unconsciously unskilled, consciously unskilled, consciously skilled, and unconsciously skilled.

In the first stage, unconsciously unskilled, individuals are unaware of their lack of knowledge or skill in a particular area. They simply do not know what they do not know. This stage is characterized by a lack of awareness and often serves as the starting point for learning something new.

In the second stage, consciously unskilled, individuals become aware of their knowledge gaps. They recognize the areas in which they lack proficiency and acknowledge their need to learn and improve. This stage is crucial as it motivates individuals to seek out information and resources to bridge their knowledge deficit.

As individuals progress to the third stage, consciously skilled, they actively apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired. They consciously engage in the learning process, practice and refine their abilities, and make a deliberate effort to apply what they have learned. This stage requires focus, concentration, and a willingness to adapt and learn from mistakes.

Finally, in the fourth stage, unconsciously skilled, individuals reach a level of mastery where they can effortlessly apply their knowledge and skills. They have internalized the information to such an extent that it becomes second nature. Tasks that were once challenging have now become automatic and require minimal conscious effort.

Stage 1: unconsciously unskilled – you don’t know that you don’t know

Stage 2: consciously unskilled – you now know what you don’t know

Stage 3: consciously skilled – you carefully apply what you know

Stage 4: unconsciously skilled – you apply what you know effortlessly

IT is not a fancy thing that is untouchable; it depends on which stage you are in indeed. Our team has started and reached stage 4 in terms of IT consultant management. We are here, looking forward to working with you!
